Vail Golden Peak day-skier valet: Reserve a date or buy a punch card online

What Is a Full Valet?

A full valet is a complete interior and exterior car clean, a term used mostly in the UK, where "valeting" means what Americans call detailing. In the United States, people also use "full valet" loosely to mean full-service valet parking, where attendants handle every step of parking and returning your car.

Because the phrase means two different things, this page covers both, starting with the cleaning meaning.

What does a full valet clean include?

Lists vary from one provider to the next, but a full valet typically includes:

  • Exterior wash: a hand wash and dry, with wheels, tires and door shuts cleaned.
  • Paint protection: a coat of wax or sealant to protect the paint and help it stay clean longer.
  • Interior vacuum: seats, carpets, mats and the trunk.
  • Carpet and upholstery shampoo: to lift ground-in dirt, stains and pet hair.
  • Leather care: cleaning and conditioning so leather does not dry out or crack.
  • Hard surfaces and glass: dashboard, door panels, trim and windows, inside and out.

Always ask for the provider's exact list before you book, since one shop's "full valet" can be another shop's basic package. Ask too how long it will take, and whether the price changes for a large vehicle or heavy pet hair.

How is a full valet different from a mini valet or detailing?

A mini valet is the quick version: an exterior wash plus a light vacuum and wipe inside. A full valet goes deeper on both. Detailing, the more common American term, covers the same ground and can go further, with services like paint correction or ceramic coating. If you are in the United States and want your car deep cleaned, search for a detailer.

What does full-service valet parking mean?

In the parking and hospitality world, a full-service valet means attendants handle the whole parking experience so the guest never has to look for a space. That covers:

  • Greeting the driver at the entrance and opening doors
  • Taking the keys and issuing a claim ticket
  • Parking the car in a planned, controlled area
  • Keeping every key tracked and secure
  • Bringing the car back promptly when the guest is ready

At hotels and buildings, a full-service team often does more: helping with luggage, giving directions, and staffing the front desk or bell stand. Our hotel valet and bell staffing and office building valet and concierge pages describe how that works day to day.

Which kind of full valet does VIP Parking Solutions provide?

Our work is the parking and guest service side: valet parking for events, hotels, hospitals, office buildings and residential buildings, plus hospitality and concierge staffing. Every assignment is staffed with our own employees, not subcontractors.

Which one do you need?

If your car needs a deep clean, you want a full valet in the cleaning sense, from a detailer. If you are hosting a wedding, a corporate dinner or a private party, or running a building where guests arrive by car, you want full-service valet parking. For events, start with our Denver event valet page. For everything else we do, see all valet services or our Denver valet company overview.
